Rose Garden

The Rose Garden is located on Phet Kasem Road, about 32 kilometers southwest of Bangkok. It was built to promote traditional Thai culture and customs to foreign tourists. The garden is planted with many roses of different colors and varieties, as well as various tropical flowers.

The garden is built around a lake, where yachts float on the water and there are delicate bridges. There are also Chinese-style buildings by the lake furnished with classical Chinese furniture. Visitors can take a slow ride along the gravel paths on the shore in horse-drawn carriages or on elephants, enjoying a tranquil environment.

This garden serves as a center for Thai national culture. It houses an exhibition hall showcasing Thai folk culture. In the corridors, display cabinets feature wax figures arranged chronologically according to Thai history—some clad in animal hides, others adorned with bright reds and greens, wielding sticks, swords, or spears, or engaged in archery—all in vivid and lifelike poses.

The garden also includes a swimming area, a golf course, and a bowling alley.

Every afternoon, there is a grand performance of Thai folk culture in the garden. The show is divided into two parts: the first part includes traditional Thai dances, simulated Muay Thai matches, sword performances, and a reenactment of a Thai wedding ceremony. These performances take place on indoor stages set up in traditional Thai-style houses. The second part is held outdoors, featuring adorable elephants performing acrobatics. The Thai Folk Arts and Crafts Demonstration Area in the garden showcases ancient Thai production techniques—such as silk reeling, weaving, rice milling, and pottery making—through live demonstrations.
