Flights to Bangkok at 6:40 AM      Vietjet’s inaugural tickets to drop to 520 RMB

Vietjet, which is expected to officially launch its Taipei–Bangkok route on December 17, has not yet announced its ticket prices or actual flight times. However, according to information, flights will depart from Taoyuan Airport at 06:40 and arrive in Bangkok at 09:10; return flights will leave Bangkok at 10:10 and arrive in Taiwan at 15:30—this is considered an “early departure, early return” flight schedule.

Another airline offering the Taipei–Bangkok route, Tigerair Taiwan, departs Taipei at 16:00 and arrives in Bangkok at 18:45, with the return flight leaving Bangkok at 20:05 and arriving in Taipei at 00:40—this is an “evening departure, evening return” flight. The two airlines have noticeably different time slots, and Vietjet uses the A321 aircraft, while Tigerair operates the A320-200 model.

Regarding ticket prices, which are of concern to the public, Vietjet spokespersonTang Dun-taistated that the price of Vietjet’s inaugural tickets is determined based on the number of participants in the promotional campaign. As of November 26, the total number of participants has reached 160,000, bringing the ticket price down to 720 RMB. It is expected that by November 28, the number will exceed 200,000, achieving the goal of a one-way Taipei–Bangkok ticket for 520 RMB. Tang Dun-tai also said that the official flight schedule and promotional ticket prices for the inaugural flight are expected to be announced on December 1.

In response to Vietjet’s upcoming launch, Tigerair Taiwan spokespersonLee Ming-yenstated that the Bangkok market is large enough, and expressed hope that healthy competition will help expand the market together.
