Expanded cross-strait routes and increased flights: Tigerair Taiwan to compete for mainland China routes

Civil aviation authorities from both sides of the strait have reached a consensus to increase the number of regular weekly flights from 828 to 840, with each side adding six flights. The newly added destinations are Changzhou in Jiangsu Province, while Jieyang Chaoshan in Guangdong has been upgraded from a chartered flight destination to a regular one—both new destinations will operate three flights per week. Tigerair Taiwan stated that to expand its presence in the mainland market, it will strive to secure these new cross-strait route opportunities.

The Civil Aviation Administration recently announced the allocation of new routes to Changzhou and Jieyang Chaoshan in mainland China. Tigerair Taiwan spokesperson Li Mingyan stated that internal assessments indicate these two destinations have development potential. Tigerair Taiwan is actively developing its mainland routes and will seek to secure any available new route opportunities. Currently, among stable cross-strait routes, Spring Airlines is already operating as a low-cost carrier. Regarding future route planning, Tigerair Taiwan also noted that if given the opportunity, it hopes to expand to first-tier cities, offering travelers more choices.
