Participating in a marathon allows runners to visit famous landmarks of the host city, which not only excites the participants but also energizes the spectators. The route of the Bangkok Marathon, to be held on November 18 on Sanam Chai Road (next to the Grand Palace), will take runners past many of Bangkok’s charming sights such as the Grand Palace and the Chao Phraya River. The race is divided into four main categories based on different age groups, including the full marathon (42.185 km), half marathon (21.10 km), mini marathon (10.55 km), and a super short marathon (5 km).

The race route not only passes by many historical landmarks but also winds through local neighborhoods rich in cultural charm. Along the way, runners will enjoy views of the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), the National Museum, and the Chao Phraya River. The starting and finishing lines for all race categories are located on Sanam Chai Road in front of the Grand Palace, allowing runners to take in Bangkok’s iconic sights while also soaking in the lively cheers and cultural atmosphere from the enthusiastic crowds.
Additionally, when visiting Bangkok, don’t miss Rattanakosin Island, the city’s oldest district, established in 1782. The island is home to many must-visit attractions, including the Old Parliament House, Wat Saket (Golden Mount Temple), Wat Ratchanatdaram, the Democracy Monument, the Bangkok City Pillar Shrine, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), the National Theatre, and Suan Santi Chai Mongkol Park. These magnificent structures and sites become even more enchanting at night, offering a Bangkok nightlife experience distinct from the daytime. To this end, a local tour titled “Explore Bangkok’s Elegant Ancient City by Heritage Tram” has been launched. The tour begins at 7:00 PM with a delicious dinner for two at Sidewalk Cafe Rajchadamnoen, followed by a romantic heritage tram ride through the old city at 8:00 PM.
