Chinese Beach

There is a beach called Jinmosal on the Chinese Beach, which is exceptionally long, stretching 560 meters, with an average water depth of 1.2 meters. The beach features sands in various colors including black, white, red, and gray, creating a harmonious contrast with Jeju Island’s black rocks—basalt formations. On the right side of the beach, there are natural sea erosion caves that are 15 meters deep, surrounded by a ring of rocks. This area is often used as a filming location for commercials, and visitors can enjoy water sports such as surfing here. Due to the strong currents, apart from surfing, other marine activities are also popular, making it quite famous. For surfing, winter wave conditions are better than those in summer.

Transportation 1. Take a suburban bus bound for Seogwipo via Chinese Beach, which departs every 10 minutes from Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal (☎ 064-753-1153), with buses running every 12 minutes. It takes about 60 minutes to reach the entrance of the Chinese Tourism Complex, then transfer to a taxi for another 10 minutes. From there, it's a 10–15 minute walk to Chinese Beach. 2. From Jeju Airport, take Airport Bus No. 600 to “Jeju International Convention Center.” The bus ride from the airport to the convention center takes about 1 hour, with buses departing every 15 minutes. Get off and walk for 10 minutes to reach Chinese Beach. 3. From Seogwipo City, take Bus No. 300 (Rukjeongmun Tourism Complex Bus) and get off at Chinese Beach. Buses run every 15 minutes and the trip takes approximately 15 minutes.
