June is also the season when hydrangeas bloom in South Korea, and several hydrangea festivals are held during this time. Among them, Jeju Island is the first place in the country where you can admire the beautiful hydrangeas. The blooming period usually lasts from early June to late July, and the island gets enveloped in a colorful sea of flowers, creating a very romantic atmosphere.

1. Seogwipo City - Camellia Hill
Covering an area of 172,000 square meters, Camellia Hill is famous for its camellias and is home to the world’s largest camellia tree. Over 500 varieties and more than 6,000 camellia trees gather here. Every June, a vast expanse of hydrangea blossoms blooms, complemented by various landscape decorations, forming a spectacular floral park.

The park also features diverse botanical areas such as a wild garden and a grassland plaza, as well as various accommodation facilities including thatched cottages, wooden cabins, and hotel-style apartments. There is also an art gallery showcasing camellia handicrafts and multi-purpose meeting rooms.

2. Seogwipo City - Hyuaili Natural Living Park
Hyuaili Natural Living Park is filled with the fragrance of flowers all year round. Every year around mid-April, hydrangeas begin to bloom here—the earliest in South Korea—and the blooming continues until the end of July. Walking up the hiking trail, you can see beautifully blooming hydrangea gardens and paths.
