Situated in the Jungmun Tourist Complex, the Yeomiji Botanical Garden is filled with a southern island atmosphere and is the largest botanical garden in Asia, spanning around 34,000 pyeong. The greenhouse area covers 3,800 pyeong and includes themed gardens such as the Flower & Butterfly Garden, Aquatic Plant Garden, Eco Garden, Tropical Fruit Garden, Succulent Plant Garden, and a Central Observation Deck, where over 2,000 rare plant species are cultivated. In addition, there is a Jeju Native Plant Garden and a Folk Garden composed of distinctive gardens from Korea, Japan, Italy, France, and other countries. A sightseeing train that can accommodate 60 passengers shuttles between the greenhouse and the various gardens. Climbing the 38-meter-high observation deck offers not only panoramic views of the Jungmun Tourist Complex, natural waterfalls, Mount Halla, and the nearby coastal areas but also, on clear days, a glimpse of Marado Island, the southernmost point of South Korea.

Transportation 1. Take a flight from Gimpo Airport in Seoul to Jeju Island. 2. 1) Take a suburban bus from the Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal (064-753-1153) heading to Seogwipo via Jungmun. Buses run every 10 minutes and the journey takes about 50 minutes. 2) You can also take an airport shuttle bus operating on the Jeju Airport–Jungmun–Seogwipo route. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes, and the trip to Seogwipo takes about 40 minutes. 3) From Seogwipo, take a city bus and get off at Yeomiji Botanical Garden.
