Seoul Plaza

Seoul Plaza is located in Jung District, Seoul. It served as a classic site for street cheerleaders during the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup, but starting from May 2004, it transformed into a grassy park that now welcomes visitors. Covering an area of 12,540 square meters, the grassy park features an open oval shape and is connected to the main entrance of Seoul City Hall via pedestrian pathways. It has become one of the most important public spaces for citizens to relax, unwind, or participate in cultural events.

Seoul Plaza is an emerging tourist destination where both Seoul locals and international visitors can experience the city’s cultural diversity, and it remains open to tourists year-round. On one side of the plaza is a ground fountain, where the laughter of children playing in the water fills the air during the hot summer months. In winter, the plaza turns into a skating rink, offering a unique source of fun. The ice-skating rink is open annually from December to February, and entry costs just 1,000 KRW. Whether you're a couple in love or a group of middle school students hanging out with classmates, you’re sure to have a wonderful time here. In addition, the plaza is equipped with lighting facilities that make it even more dazzling at night.
