National Theater of Korea

Established in 1950, the National Theater is Asia’s first national theater and serves as a hub for preserving traditional arts and promoting modern performing arts. It consists of the Rising Sun Theater, Rising Moon Theater, Rising Star Theater, and the open-air Sky Theater, and oversees the National Drama Company, the Korean Traditional Opera Company, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Dance Company, the Choir, the Ballet Company, and the Opera Company.

Transportation: Take subway Line 3 to Dongguk University Station, exit 2, and board the free shuttle bus (available in front of Taehwagwan, departs 40 minutes and 20 minutes before each performance, 5-minute ride); or take blue bus No. 420 and get off at National Theater.
