Oda City

Oda City is located in Shimane Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan. Together with Hamada City and Masuda City, it is known as the "Three Oda Cities of Iwami" and serves as a major urban center in the eastern part of Iwami. The Oda City mine, Iwami Ginzan, was Japan's largest silver mine during the early Edo period, and along with its related historic sites, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. Iwami Ginzan was the largest silver mine in Japan during the late Sengoku period and early Edo period, greatly contributing to Japan’s economic development. To help visitors better understand this renowned World Heritage Site, they can also explore the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine Museum and the Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Center.
