Fuji City

Fuji City is a city located in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture. It is classified as a Special City and has the third-largest population in the prefecture, serving as the administrative, commercial, and industrial center of the Fuji metropolitan area. Many paper manufacturing plants, such as Nippon Paper Industries (formerly Oji Paper) and Oji Paper, are established here. Additionally, Fuji Chuo University is also located in the city.

Located south of Japan’s highest mountain, Mount Fuji, and facing Suruga Bay, Fuji City offers views of the beautiful Mount Fuji on 192 days of the year. This is a city rich in tourist resources, featuring not only museums and libraries but also numerous parks and temples, making it well worth a visit. Attractions include the Fuji City Museum, Fuji City Central Library, the wooden Jizo Bosatsu statue at Zuirin Temple, the Asama Kofun ancient tomb, the Kangetsuttei embankment, Jissou Temple, Soga Temple, the Susuki River Valley, the Susuki Valley Bridge, Iwamotoyama Park, Fuji Nishi Park, and Maruhon Nature Park.
