To celebrate the "25th anniversary of the Chibi Maruko-chan anime" and the "15th anniversary of the Chibi Maruko-chan Museum in Shizuoka," Japan has launched a series of Chibi Maruko-chan promotional events. In addition to the Chibi Maruko-chan-themed restaurant launched earlier this year by Fuji TV, the "Chibi Maruko-chan-themed train" introduced by Shizuoka Railway also began its one-year passenger service on July 27!

The Japanese Chibi Maruko-chan anime has accompanied everyone for 25 years. The story is based on the childhood (Showa 49, i.e., 1974) of the author Momoko Sakura, filled with the nostalgic vibe of the 1970s. The anime is set in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and revolves around Chibi Maruko-chan and her family and classmates, depicting everyday stories about family, friendship, and life—filled with both laughter and tears—that remind viewers of the innocence of childhood. It is a nationally beloved cartoon in both Japan and Taiwan. Now, to celebrate the anniversaries of the Chibi Maruko-chan anime and museum, Japan has launched a series of celebratory events. Not only was the "Chibi Maruko-chan Café" launched at Fuji TV in Daiba starting in March, but Shizuoka Railway has also introduced the "Chibi Maruko-chan-themed train" from July 27 for a one-year journey, allowing fans from both Japan and abroad to celebrate this special year dedicated to Chibi Maruko-chan together.

The pink Chibi Maruko-chan-themed train is covered with appearances of Chibi Maruko-chan’s friends, exuding a joyful atmosphere. The train runs between “Shin-Shizuoka Station” and “Shin-Shimizu Station,” locations featured in the Chibi Maruko-chan anime. During the ride, passengers can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shizuoka but also visit nearby attractions such as Mount Fuji and Matsuo. The train makes13round trips per day, with the entire journey taking22minutes. Fans who wish to ride are advised to check the train schedule in advance through Shizuoka Railway to avoid missing it.
