Mount Fuji straddles Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures. To celebrate its inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shizuoka Prefecture has introduced a variety of Mount Fuji-themed experiences. There are three main hiking trails up Mount Fuji within Shizuoka (Fujinomiya, Gotemba, and Subashiri), each offering a unique journey. Paragliding over Asagiri Plateau lets you admire the mountain from a breathtaking altitude. Other highlights include exploring Mount Fuji caves and witnessing the stunning sunrise over Lake Tanuki.

Shizuoka Governor Heita Kawakatsu expressed great joy on the 22nd over the official inscription of “Mount Fuji” as a World Heritage Site. This achievement represents global recognition of Japan’s unique cultural and natural perspectives. For Japan, it holds profound significance and is the greatest of gifts. Moving forward, we aim to manage Mount Fuji as a “common heritage of humanity” in a sustainable manner.

The Taiwan Office of the Shizuoka Prefectural Government, The Country of Mount Fuji, Japan, has also launched a “Find Shizuoka Around You” Facebook campaign.
