February 23rd is Japan’s Mount Fuji Day, which is also the birthday of Shizuoka Prefecture’s mascot, Fujisan-kun. To celebrate Fujisan-kun’s 2nd birthday,the Taiwan Office of Shizuoka Prefecture, The Land of Mount Fuji, Japan, has specially organized an online game event. From now until March 20th, anyone who successfully completes the challenge will have a chance to win the grand prize: a five-day, four-night Shizuoka Mount Fuji couple’s trip worth approximately NT$80,000, along with various adorable merchandise from the Shizuoka brothers.
The mascot exclusively representing Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan—“Shizuoka Brothers”—was born in 2013. The elder brother, Fujisan-kun, is the energetic and passionate Mount Fuji, while the younger brother, Shizucha-buei, is the relaxed and serene tea brother. Shizuoka is home to Japan’s tallest mountain, Mount Fuji, and its deepest bay, Suruga Bay. It is also the hometown of the beloved characters Sazae-san and Gundam, as well as a renowned green tea-producing region—a long-lived land filled with the fragrance of tea.

Shizuoka Prefecture has established the “Taiwan Office of Shizuoka Prefecture, The Land of Mount Fuji, Japan” in Taipei, aiming to provide tourism resources more conveniently. Through the cute and lively images of the mascot brothers, it hopes to help Taiwanese people learn more about Shizuoka. The “Fujisan-kun Jenga Birthday Party” event runs from now until March 20th. As long as you successfully complete the game on the event webpage, you will have a chance to win various prizes.
