Celebrate the First Anniversary of Mount Fuji’s UNESCO World Heritage Listing with a Chance to Win Airline Tickets!

In 2013, during the 37th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, Mount Fuji in Japan was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List. Now, one year has passed. The Shizuoka Prefecture Office in Taiwan, representing the Land of Fuji, invites everyone to join the celebration by participating in a special online quiz event. The grand prize is a round-trip Taipei–Shizuoka economy class ticket for two worth approximately NT$27,000, plus various other great Shizuoka-themed giveaways up for grabs!

About half of Mount Fuji lies within Shizuoka Prefecture, which offers a wide variety of Mount Fuji-themed experiences. There are three main climbing routes in Shizuoka (Fujinomiya, Gotenba, and Subashiri), each with its own unique characteristics. Beyond hiking, admiring Mount Fuji is also a major highlight of travel in Shizuoka. Try paragliding at Asagiri Plateau for stunning aerial views of the mountain, witness the breathtaking "Diamond Fuji" phenomenon at Lake Tanuki, or soak in natural hot springs at the foot of Mount Fuji—all adding colorful dimensions to your Mount Fuji adventure.

With Mount Fuji’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it represents the world’s recognition of Japan’s unique cultural and natural perspectives. For Japan, this is not only an affirmation but also a call to manage Mount Fuji as a “common heritage of mankind” for sustainable preservation going forward.
