Mr. Fukada's Garden

Mr. Fukada's Garden is located on the south side of the Residential Shoin in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture, Chugoku Region, Japan. It was once the residence of the Fukada family, a pioneering and influential clan of Hōki Province (also known as Hōshū, one of the ancient provinces of Japan), and was built in the early Edo period. It is the oldest surviving garden in the San'in region and has been designated as a prefectural scenic spot. Every year, many visitors from all over Japan and around the world come to see it.

The layout of Mr. Fukada's Garden is well-organized and ingeniously designed, reflecting the prestigious lineage of the Fukada family. The garden is modeled after an ancient shoin-style residence and incorporates a pond and spring appreciation area. Within the pond lies a small island called the Island of the Immortals, symbolizing longevity and prosperity, which instantly gives visitors a sense of warmth upon entering.
