Tottori Airport Renamed "Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport" and Officially Launched!

On March 1, the airport in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, was officially renamed Tottori Sand Dunes "Conan" Airport (鳥取砂丘コナン空港)! In addition to the name change, elements of Detective Conan can be seen everywhere—from signage to attraction introductions. Life-sized figures of Conan and Ran, as well as large floor murals, have been installed inside the airport, making air travel more fun.

Tottori Prefecture is the hometown of Gosho Aoyama, the creator of Detective Conan. The decision to name the airport after Conan aims to attract more tourists to visit Tottori Prefecture and enjoy activities such as viewing the sand dunes, soaking in hot springs, and sampling local cuisine. From the exterior to the interior, the Conan Airport not only features Conan as its logo on the outside, but inside the airport there are also life-sized figures of Ran and Conan dressed as flight attendants to welcome visitors. Travelers can also learn more about Tottori’s attractions through Conan’s introductions, and there is a giant 3D floor painting of Conan riding a camel for visitors to admire and take photos with.
