Sapporo TV Tower, also known as Sapporo Tower, is a relay transmission tower for television and FM radio broadcasts in Sapporo, and one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Currently, the tower is open to visitors.

Built in 1956 and completed in 1957, Sapporo TV Tower covers a total area of 1,320 square meters, weighs 1,000 metric tons, and stands 147.2 meters tall. There is an observation deck at 90 meters above ground, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Sapporo’s beautiful urban landscape. The tower is located within Odori Park in Chuo Ward, Sapporo, together forming one of the city’s most famous tourist destinations. Odori Park stretches from north to south and is a symbol of Sapporo as well as the main venue for annual events such as the Flower Festival and Snow Festival. The park features a variety of flowers including lilacs, roses, and azaleas, along with 92 species of trees, plus cultural attractions such as sculptures and fountains, creating a truly picturesque scene.

When night falls, the illuminated clock and various lights inside Sapporo TV Tower, together with the colorful lights of Odori Park, create one of Sapporo’s most stunning nightscapes, attracting many visitors to take photos here.
