First to open Hakodate, then Sapporo in September — Tigerair Taiwan flights to New Chitose from NT$1,399 one-way

Tigerair Taiwan, which will launch its Taoyuan–Hakodate route on August 12, today announced that it will open a Taoyuan–Sapporo (New Chitose) route on September 13, with ticket sales starting on July 20. To celebrate the new route, an introductory one-way fare of NT$1,399 will be offered. (One-way fare excludes tax)

Tigerair Taiwan stated that once the New Chitose, Sapporo route begins, its number of destinations in Japan will reach 10, with a total of 12 routes. These include Naha, Okinawa in the south and New Chitose, Sapporo in the north. Sapporo is the most northerly ordinance-designated city in Japan, with an average annual temperature of around 8–9°C. The coldest winter average temperature is about -7°C, while summer temperatures often exceed 20°C. The climate is cool and comfortable in the mornings and evenings, and summers are free from the rainy season, making it one of the best times to visit. From late October onwards, Sapporo begins to see its first snowfall, and by December, snow accumulates. The abundant snowfall makes Sapporo a hotspot for various winter activities, and even the local open-air hot springs allow travelers to soak while enjoying the snow. Starting in November, Sapporo also hosts numerous snow-related festivals and events, transforming the city into a snowy wonderland.

This promotional sale runs from 14:00 on the 20th to 23:59 on July 22, with applicable travel dates from September 13 to October 29, 2016.
