The Fangshan Tombs are a cultural tourism attraction.

Highlights: On the southern mountaintop lies the tomb of Empress Dowager Feng from the Northern Wei Dynasty — the Yonggu Tomb, commonly known as "Qi Huang Tomb." During the Northern Wei period, the Lingquan Palace and Lingquan Pool were built here, forming a large-scale imperial retreat. The entire tomb faces south and features brick structures such as a passageway, front chamber, corridor, and main chamber. The architecture is grand in scale, with beautiful design and decoration, showcasing the exceptional architectural artistry of the time. The Yonggu Tomb was looted three times throughout history. During the Zhenglong era of the Jin Dynasty, tomb raiders broke in through a hole dug from the northwest, and most of the burial objects were stolen. In the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty, raiders entered the tomb again, stealing or damaging many of the stone figurines and beasts in the front chamber, including their base bricks. In the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, the Yonggu Tomb was looted for the third time, and most of the remaining items were taken, leaving very little behind. Introduction: Located 25 kilometers north of Datong City and adjacent to the Great Wall, the area is surrounded by towering mountains, lush greenery, and clear waters, offering beautiful scenery.
