Temple of Serenity The Temple of Serenity is located beneath the northern city wall of Poluobao Village and is one of the better-preserved Liao Dynasty structures in Datong City. After undergoing multiple restorations, it has been preserved to this day.

The temple currently consists of 15 rooms, including the main hall, middle hall, side halls, and meditation rooms. Inside the halls, there are over 60 statues, as well as a large bell cast during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era, an ancient elm tree with a trunk about 2.5 meters in diameter, and exquisite Ming Dynasty painted murals.

Renowned both inside and outside the Great Wall, the Temple of Serenity is famous for its intricate architectural structure, rich and diverse artistic forms, and beautiful, magical legends.
