Meishan Park

Meishan Park is located in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, covering an area of 6 hectares. The park features a rich variety of plants including plum blossoms, peonies, azaleas, poinsettias, as well as peach and plum trees, all arranged on a significant scale. Its pathways are simple and serene.

The park is built along the mountain terrain. Following the cobblestone pathway uphill, visitors will first arrive at the Caoling Martyrs’ Memorial Monument, which commemorates the 74 soldiers who died while constructing Caoling Reservoir in the 40th year of the Republic of China. Above it stands the “Jieshou Pavilion,” which houses stone tables and chairs. From here, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the lush green mountains. To the left of Jieshou Pavilion is another pavilion called the Plum Pavilion, while to the right there is a tea house that sells various plum teas, plum essences, and other local specialties. When the plum blossoms are in full bloom, visiting the Plum Pavilion to admire the flowers and sip plum tea is truly a delightful experience. From the Wangxiang (Nostalgia) Pavilion, visitors can gaze out over Meishan Township, with its rustic countryside charm that is truly endearing. The park also includes a children’s play area, flower stands, pathways, and other landscape facilities, making it an ideal leisure spot for local residents.
