Lantan is located in the eastern suburbs of Chiayi and boasts excellent transportation access. The lake features a vast expanse of crystal-clear water surrounded by rolling hills, creating a picturesque landscape that is especially enchanting on moonlit nights, earning it the reputation of “Moonlit Lantan” and making it one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Chiayi.

A ring road runs along the shore of Lantan. Starting a lakeside tour, you will first encounter the Observation Tower. From the top of the tower, not only can you enjoy an unobstructed view of Lantan, but also get a clear panorama of the Chiayi area. Continuing from the Observation Tower and taking the left fork at the junction, you will soon see the lush green fields of the Lantan Camping Site come into view. The campsite can accommodate over 30 four-person tents, offering extremely comfortable camping conditions. It takes about 90 minutes to walk around the entire lake. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by dense woods, enjoying the cool shade and refreshing breezes — a truly pleasant experience.
