Chinese Folk Culture Village

The Chinese Folk Culture Village is located in Shekou Village, Zhongpu Township, Chiayi County. It was redeveloped from the former Wu Feng Memorial Park. Covering an area of approximately 12 hectares, the entire village exudes an antique charm and offers a tranquil and elegant atmosphere. Its main buildings are the Chongren and Shangyi Halls, which follow the traditional layout of southern Fujian architecture, complemented by a European-style garden. The Chongren Hall centers around the themes of loyalty, filial piety, fraternal respect, trust, and showcases ancient folk art pieces such as carvings, pottery sculptures, dough figurines, painted artworks, and paper umbrellas. The Shangyi Hall uses wax figures along with lighting and sound effects to depict the story of Wu Feng sacrificing himself for righteousness. It also displays lifelike dioramas of the living conditions of early indigenous peoples and Taiwanese settlers, with both figures and settings sculpted in remarkable detail. Stepping inside, visitors feel as if they’ve traveled back in time.
