Located in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, Taiping Village, also known as Daping, is a flat mountain area situated at an altitude of one thousand meters. The roads along the area are winding and twisting, offering cool weather all year round, stunning scenery, and a very mild climate, making it an ideal summer retreat for tourism and hiking. The road from Meishan to Taiping Village climbs steadily in 36 bends before finally flattening out upon reaching the village. The small settlement is built on a plateau, featuring neat streets, well-developed community infrastructure, fresh landscapes, and a warm, hospitable local culture. During holidays, the village is always bustling with visitors, and villagers often set up stalls at their doorsteps to sell locally produced goods such as Moso bamboo shoots, tea, asparagus lettuce, mountain celery, as well as oranges, mandarins, and longans—creating another unique local scene.
