Daxi Zhongzheng Park is located near Daxi Old Street and is an old park rich in historical charm. It was established by the Japanese in 1909 and originally featured a Shinto shrine, a community hall, and a sumo wrestling arena. After the retrocession, the shrine was transformed into the "Transcendent Pavilion," the sumo arena became a lotus pond, and the community hall was converted into Chiang Kai-shek’s former residence.

Chiang Kai-shek (October 31, 1887 – April 5, 1975), whose given name was Zhongzheng and courtesy name Jieshi. His childhood name was Ruiyuan, his formal registered name ZhouTai, and his school name Zhiqing. Of ancestral origin in Yixing, Jiangsu, he was born in Fenghua, Zhejiang.
