Yellow Duck Loves "Peach" – Come to Taoyuan to See the Duck, Enjoy Delicious Food, and Admire the Scenery

The Taoyuan Land Art Festival officially opened on the 26th. In addition to admiring the adorable yellow duck, visitors might as well take a one-day trip around Taoyuan. The Taoyuan County Tourism Bureau has specially createdthe “Yellow Duck Loves Tao – Side Trip Map”recommending several unique scenic spots, inviting the public to enjoy the cute pose of the yellow duck and then explore the local charm of Taoyuan. Along the way, you can also taste the famous Xinyi goose meat, enjoy seafood at Yong’an Fishing Port, or visit the Easton Mountain Forest Hotel to admire the scenery while dining on a Thai-style BBQ buffet.

Following the map, the Taoyuan County Government suggests that visitors take the shuttle bus in the morning to the Land Art Festival venue to see the currently popular yellow duck, the dots of life floating on the pond, and the large lotus flowers. Stroll leisurely through the countryside of Xinyi to admire the land art created through the collaboration of outstanding contemporary Taiwanese artists and local Xinyi residents. Eight major artistic creations compose a wonderful local cultural symphony for Xinyi.

By noon, drive to the “Xinyi Goose Meat Restaurant,” a hidden gem that’s highly recommended by locals and word-of-mouth but reportedly “can’t be reached without a car.” Tucked away in a small country lane, this unassuming iron-sheet shack may make first-time visitors doubt if they’ve come to the wrong place—but once you step inside and see the surprisingly packed dining room, you’ll be amazed. The Xinyi Goose Meat Restaurant prides itself on using fresh goose meat from its own farm. The geese are raised on natural, organic feed, so good that even nearby goose meat vendors come to buy from them.

After enjoying the meal, the Taoyuan County Government recommends your next stop being the “Xinyi Green Corridor.” Although Taiwan has many green tunnels, the Xinyi Green Corridor, through careful planning by the county government, has become the largest dedicated green cycling path in northern Taiwan. Visitors can ride bicycles or tandem bikes here, enjoying the sea breeze along the coast and the refreshing phytoncide-scented air of the greenway.

Just two kilometers from the green corridor, Yong’an Fishing Port not only offers the freshest seafood but also has a seafood auction area in the market for those looking to buy fresh ingredients. Even if you’re not buying, watching the lively auction is a unique experience. As night falls, the nearby Yong’an Sea View Bridge lights up with colorful illuminations, adding a brilliant glow to the nighttime sea.

The nearby Easton Mountain Forest Resort boasts vast ecological forests, “beauty queen soup” sodium bicarbonate hot springs, and refined suite hot spring rooms. With its beautiful scenery and romantic atmosphere, it has become a popular filming location for idol dramas in recent years. The currently airing ratings champion “True Love Black & White,” starring Chris Wang and Esther Liu, features scenes at the windmill beach in Guanyin Township and the tree bridge at the Easton Mountain Forest Resort in Yangmei during the opening and closing credits—drawn many fans to organize group trips to visit these filming locations.
