2014 Taoyuan New Year’s Eve Concert – Fish Leong to Headline

As the year draws to a close, besides the Christmas celebrations taking place around the country that have caught the public’s attention, the biggest event of the final day — the New Year’s Eve concert — is an unmissable highlight. This year’s Taoyuan New Year’s Eve concert, organized by the Taoyuan County Government, has also assembled an impressive lineup. From 6:00 PM on December 31st, a series of performances will take place at the Taoyuan County Multifunctional Arts and Cultural Park. The line-up includes Fish Leong, the creative diva making her New Year’s Eve singing debut and headlining exclusively in Taoyuan, as well as Rock King Wu Bai, Karaoke Queen Ding Dang, Star King Yoga Lin, operatic singer Deng Fu-ru, otaku goddess Annie Chen, Golden Melody Award-winning band MATZKA, healing songstress Jiang Mei-qi, quirky retro band Won Fu, Taiwanese pop queen Huang Fei, national girl group POPU LADY, pretty boy idol Bii Shi-jin, and dance-pop group Free Style. A total of 13 artist groups will perform in succession, creating a powerful and spectacular 2014 Taoyuan New Year’s Eve celebration.

In addition to the exciting program, the Taoyuan County Government has also specially prepared three great giveaways for attendees this year. First up, the LINE ON AIR lucky draw for a LCD TV — simply join the official LINE account of the Taoyuan County Government, and during the two ON AIR sessions on December 28th and January 2nd from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM, enter the password to participate. Two LCD TV winners will be drawn during the concert on December 31st and another two on January 3rd. Second, win a Mitsubishi Colt Plus and drive happiness home — starting at 5:00 PM on the day of the event, participants can collect a lottery ticket at the event information desk, with the lucky winner taking home a Colt Plus. Third, sample delicious Taoyuan cuisine in the special concert area — the New Year’s Eve site will feature award-winning stalls from major Taoyuan night markets, as well as specialty tourist factories and vendors of Taoyuan’s top ten souvenirs, allowing the public to easily enjoy local flavors.

 

For transportation, this year’s New Year’s Eve event has planned paid shuttle buses along three routes: Zhongli Line, Taoyuan Line, and Tai Mao Line. Shuttles will run from locations such as the front of Taoyuan Enterprise Hotel in Zhongli, the front of Taoyuan Tonlin Department Store, and the Tai Mao Shopping Center, taking attendees to the event venue. Ticket prices vary depending on distance, with one-section (NT$18) or two-section (NT$36) fares available.
