As the year draws to a close, besides the Christmas celebrations taking place around the country and capturing netizens’ attention, the biggest event of the final day of the year—the countdown party—is an unmissable activity. This year’s Taoyuan Countdown Party also features an impressive lineup. Starting at 6:00 PM on December 31st, a series of performances will take place at the Taoyuan County Arts and Culture Multi-Purpose Park. The lineup includes award-winning singer-songwriter Chen Qizhen, making her countdown debut and serving as the exclusive finale act in Taoyuan, as well as rock legend Wu Bai, Mandopop diva Ding Dang, “Starlight King” Yoga Lin, soprano Deng Furu, internet sensation An Xiya, Grammy-winning band MATZKA, healing songstress Jiang Meiqi, vintage comedy rockers Wanfou, Taiwanese pop queen Huang Fei, all-girl group POPU LADY, heartthrob idol Bii Bi Shu Jin, and dance-pop group Free Style. These 13 artists and groups will deliver a high-energy and unforgettable 2014 Taoyuan New Year’s Eve celebration.

Aside from the exciting program, the Taoyuan County Government has also prepared three special giveaways for attendees. First, the LINE ON AIR lottery for a LCD TV—just join the official LINE account of Taoyuan County Government, and during the ON AIR sessions on December 28 and January 2 from 8:00–8:30 PM, enter the password to participate. Two LCD TV winners will be drawn during the countdown event on December 31 and another two on January 3. Second, win a Mitsubishi Colt Plus and “drive happiness home”—starting at 5:00 PM on the event day, participants can collect lottery tickets at the event information desk for a chance to win a Mitsubishi Colt Plus. Third, enjoy delicious Taoyuan cuisine in the party area—renowned night market vendors from Taoyuan, specialty tourist factories, and top 10 Taoyuan souvenir shops will set up booths at the countdown site, giving everyone a taste of local flavors.
For transportation, this year’s countdown event has arranged paid shuttle buses along three routes: Zhongli Line, Taoyuan Line, and Tai Mao Line. Shuttles will run from locations such as the front of Taoyuan Enterprise Hotel in Zhongli, the front of Taoyuan Tonlin Department Store, and the Taomall Shopping Center, taking attendees to the event venue. Ticket prices vary depending on distance, with either a one-segment fare (NT$18) or a two-segment fare (NT$36).
