The much-anticipated Keelung Yellow Duck will make its debut at Ocean Plaza on December 21. However, the previously highly expected “rotating duck” has been canceled, as it conflicted with the original creator Hofmann’s simple and tranquil artistic philosophy. In a public letter yesterday, event initiator Huang Jing-tai stated that, out of respect for the creator Hofmann’s artistic vision, they had no choice but to cancel the rotation of the Yellow Duck.

Initiator Huang Jing-tai explained that the original intention was to bring the simple joy and happiness that the original creator Hofmann imbued in the Yellow Duck to the people of Keelung, and to all who come into contact with, accept, and identify with it. However, the 360-degree rotation plan conceived by the exhibition team clashed with Hofmann’s simple and tranquil artistic philosophy. To respect the original creator’s vision, the team decided to cancel the rotation, and they apologize for disappointing many fans who were looking forward to it.
During the upcoming 50-day exhibition period, the Keelung Yellow Duck will accompany fans in a natural, peaceful, and innocent manner in Keelung Harbor, spending Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Lunar New Year together. This not only aligns with the original creator Hofmann’s philosophy of simplicity and joy, but also allows the duck to bring a calm and serene presence to everyone.
