Grand Prix Museum

Like the Macau Wine Museum, the Macau Grand Prix Museum is located in the Macao Tourism Activity Centre at Avenida de Horta e Costa, Macao. It was built by the Macao government to commemorate the Macau Grand Prix and covers an area of nearly 80 square metres. The museum mainly exhibits a collection of items of commemorative value related to the Macau Grand Prix.

The most captivating exhibits in the Macau Grand Prix Museum are the over twenty legendary racing cars in its collection, including Formula One cars, motorcycles, and vehicles once driven by famous drivers. Among the most renowned is the car and racing suit of the late legendary driver Ayrton Senna, who won the first Macau Grand Prix Formula Three race in 1983. There are also cars driven by Ralf Schumacher and the late world champion driver Ayrton Senna.

Additionally, the Macau Grand Prix Museum is equipped with projectors that introduce the museum and various aspects of the Grand Prix events around the world, as well as playing highlights from races. The museum also features two life-sized replicas of a Grand Prix car and a Formula Three car, allowing visitors to experience the thrill of the Macau Grand Prix. There are also two racing exhibits accompanied by video narrations: one is a model of a pit stop during the race, simulating the scene of competing cars and the pit crew in action.

The Macau Grand Prix has been held annually since 1954 and has taken place over fifty times. Every November, racing enthusiasts from around the world come to participate in this prestigious international motorsport event. Individuals who have contributed to the Macau Grand Prix include Teddy Yip, Carlos da Silva, Nuno Cruz, Ayrton Senna, and John Costa, among others. Teddy Yip is hailed as the "Mr. Grand Prix," and his Scuderia Teddy team achieved remarkable success, winning the Grand Prix multiple times, including Ayrton Senna’s first Formula Three victory, which was also made possible with Yip’s support.
