On Macau’s busiest thoroughfare, as you reach the end of Senado Square, all travelers are bound to be drawn to the sacred and beautiful Church of St. Dominic. This church, which has stood for several hundred years, has been refurbished to present a stunning exterior. Located on its right side is the Treasury of Sacred Relics in the Church of St. Dominic, a three-story building that opened on November 23, 1997.

The Treasury of Sacred Relics in the Church of St. Dominic is one of Macau’s most distinctive exhibition venues, primarily showcasing over 300 artifacts from Macau’s Catholic Church. These include silverware, copperware, and gilded items used in Mass, as well as wooden, plaster, and ivory religious statues. Among them, the oil painting “Saint Augustine” and the wood carving “The Bound Christ” are the most precious. There are also biblical story engravings and exquisitely handcrafted embroidered vestments. Through these exhibits, visitors can learn about the development history of Catholicism's spread across Asia. The third floor houses two large bronze bells cast in the 19th century, the oldest in Macau. Due to their age, their once-clear chimes have become a thing of the past.
