Tai Po Waterfront Park

Tai Po Waterfront Park is a park in Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong, covering an area of approximately 22 hectares, making it the largest park in Hong Kong. It is currently managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong. Located on Tai Fat Street in Tai Po, New Territories, the park is close to the Tai Po Industrial Estate, Fu Shin Estate, and Kwong Fuk Estate. The park can be divided into two parts: the waterfront garden and the waterfront park, which were completed in 1994 and 1997 respectively, with a total investment of 210 million Hong Kong dollars.

Tai Po Waterfront Park covers an area of 22 hectares, including a 1,200-metre-long waterfront promenade, gardens, rest areas, jogging trails, cycling paths, and an open-air theatre with 600 seats. The waterfront park also features a fan-shaped flower sea. When viewed from the Hong Kong Reunification Memorial Tower, the flower sea resembles a rainbow, adding vibrant colors to the entire park. The flower sea blooms year-round, displaying a variety of colorful seasonal flowers.

The park also offers other recreational facilities, such as a lawn bowls green and an insect museum. Visitors can take a taxi from the waterfront park to the Tai Po Railway Museum, which is just a 15-minute ride away, making transportation extremely convenient.

In addition, the park features a 32.4-metre-high Reunification Memorial Tower. The upper level of the viewing tower is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, where visitors can ascend to the top and enjoy panoramic views of the entire Tai Po Waterfront Park. The lower level of the tower is open all day. After visiting the tower, guests can head to the nearby insect exhibition hall.
