Gourmet Battle Zone: 20 Classic Snacks Unveiled in Dapu Commercial District

Dapu Commercial District in Changhua City is a top gourmet destination in Changhua County. This year marks the second edition of its Delicious Snack Banquet, which kicked off with a flourish on January 27 at Yanping Park. For just NT$300, you can sample a variety of classic snacks from the Dapu area in one go, including braised trotter shank with dried bamboo shoots, handmade wood-fired pizza, herbal spare ribs, fresh meat soup dumplings, orange juice cod strips, and 20 other classic dishes—experience the authentic flavors of Dapu all at once.

Wei Ming-ku, Magistrate of Changhua County, noted that Dapu Commercial District has risen to prominence in recent years, with delicious food lining every street. The “Dapu Commercial District Delicious Snack Banquet” was first held in 2017 and quickly won over consumers’ hearts. This year’s event has been expanded not only to feature 20 widely renowned local delicacies from Changhua City but also to increase the number of banquet tables available, from 50 to 60. Everyone is welcome to purchase meal vouchers—each priced at NT$300—and come enjoy authentic Changhua cuisine in Dapu Commercial District. The event also aims to promote Changhua’s culinary delights nationwide and beyond.

Chen Hsi-cheng, Chairman of the Dapu Commercial District Development Association in Changhua City, stated that this year’s expanded event is better than ever, featuring snacks such as orange juice cod strips, childhood-style large flatbread, and stinky tofu. He encouraged everyone to help spread the word about the snack banquet. Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring their own eco-friendly utensils to enjoy the feast while caring for the environment.

Meal vouchers for the “2018 Dapu Commercial District Delicious Snack Banquet” will offer up to 60 tables (a total of 600 vouchers) for public purchase. Sales run from now until January 25, 2018 (Year 107). Vouchers can be purchased on-site at the Dapu Commercial District Development Association / Office of the Yanping Village Chief in Changhua City, located at No. 478, Yanping Road, Changhua City, Changhua County.
