Plum Tree Pit Park

Plum Tree Pit Park is located in Shui Wai, New Territories, Hong Kong, near Tai Wo Estate, Tai Po Garden, Dynasty Court, and Kam Shek New Village. Established in 1991, the park covers an area of 2.25 hectares and stretches narrowly along the Lam Tsuen River.

The park features walking trails, jogging paths, a children’s playground, and pavilions, with a small island at its center. The Lam Tsuen River meanders from west to north, bending near Shui Wai where the current slows after a fast flow. Passing the Tai Po Tau Water Treatment Works, the area becomes Plum Tree Pit, then flows from north to east into Tolo Harbour. The section of the Lam Tsuen River that runs through the park has been landscaped with grass and concrete along both banks, earning an award from the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects. A variety of trees and flowers are planted throughout the park, including Bauhinia blakeana, Bauhinia variegata, Delonix regia, and banyan trees. Thanks to its scenic environment, Plum Tree Pit Park is a popular spot for outdoor portrait photography.
