Yu Chau Tsai Park

Yu Chau Tsai Park is situated along the Hong Kong coastline from the estuary of Tai Po Sun Lam Tsuen to Yu Chau Tsai, separated from Tai Po Promenade by a strip of water. Named after its location, Yu Chau Tsai, the park may be small but boasts an elegant environment, stunning sea views, and well-equipped facilities, making it an ideal spot for locals to exercise in the morning or watch the sunrise. Originally, Yu Chau Tsai was a small island near the estuary of the Tai Po River. Because the island had a slightly round shape and was relatively small, it was called "Yuen Chau Tsai" (Round Island), which was later abbreviated to "Yu Chau Tsai." In the 1980s, as the Tai Po New Town developed, land reclamation connected Yu Chau Tsai to the mainland. Shortly afterward, two public housing estates—Kwong Fuk Estate and Wang Fuk Estate—were built on the reclaimed land. The stretch of coastline from the estuary of Tai Po Sun Lam Tsuen to Yu Chau Tsai was then developed into Yu Chau Tsai Park, providing the public with an additional recreational space.
