Tai Po Old Market Tin Hau Temple is a Tin Hau (Goddess of the Sea) temple in Hong Kong, located on Ting Kok Road in Tai Po Old Market, New Territories. It serves as the worship center for the "Luen Yick Heung" area, which includes Tai Po Tau, Nam Hang, and San Wai Tsai, and is one of the oldest Tin Hau temples in Hong Kong. Around the birthday of Tin Hau on the 23rd day of the third lunar month, the temple holds large-scale opera performances. In the past, performances were held annually to celebrate the occasion, but in recent years, due to the decline of Cantonese opera, they have been held once every three years. The performances and parades take place at the adjacent “Feng Shui Square.”

Tai Po Old Market Tin Hau Temple was built in the 30th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1691). Originally situated by the waterfront, it is now located in the heart of Tai Po Town due to land reclamation over the years. Adjacent side halls within the temple complex are dedicated to the “Tam Sin Temple” and the “Hap Tin Temple.” The temple also preserves the bronze bell cast when the temple was first built, as well as plaques, couplets, and stone inscriptions from various renovation phases.

The year 2009 (the Year of the Ox) marked the sixth recorded major renovation of Tai Po Old Market Tin Hau Temple. The rededication ceremony coincided with the auspicious birthday of Tin Hau, and the temple organized a series of celebration events, including a prayer ceremony for peace, birthday opera performances, a float parade for the Tin Hau Festival, an unveiling ceremony for the renovation, and an award presentation at the celebration. The rededication and unveiling ceremony was officiated by Executive Council member Lau Wong-fat, Legislative Council member Cheung Hok-ming, and Tai Po District Officer Patrick Tam.
