Huocheng Silk Road Agricultural Mulberry Garden

The Huocheng Silk Road Agricultural Mulberry Garden is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Silk Road Agricultural Mulberry Garden is located in Zhongxin Village, Langgan Township, 3 kilometers south of Huocheng County. It stretches 1.5 kilometers from east to west, 1.2 kilometers from north to south, covering an area of 1.8 square kilometers. Since its construction began in April 2015, the Huocheng County Party Committee and government have built a “Silk Road Agricultural Mulberry Garden” integrating specialty planting and tourism sightseeing, based on 560 ancient mulberry trees over a hundred years old.

Currently, the garden has introduced ornamental flowers such as gaillardia, coreopsis, echinacea, chamomile, cornflower, daisy, and ground-cover chrysanthemum, and implemented a 200-acre flower experimental demonstration project. It has also introduced over 60,000 new varieties of oil peony, ornamental peony, and ornamental peony, demonstrated the planting of 30 acres of honeysuckle (including North Flower No.1 and Middle Flower No.1), 20 acres of Ukrainian cherries, 20 acres of honey peaches, 20 acres of strawberries (including Red Sleeve Tianxiang, Jingquanxiang, and Sweet Charlie) and a vegetable picking garden, 60 acres of protein mulberry (New Mulberry You 12), 30 acres of high-quality white pearl fruit (New White Jade No.2), 30 acres of ecological mulberry, and has helped drive the planting of 300 acres of high-quality protein mulberry in Langgan Township. In addition, it has established a cooperative relationship with the Xinjiang Hetian Sericulture Science Research Institute to introduce silkworms and related products, extending the sericulture industry chain.

An agricultural technology service team has been established within the agricultural science park in the mulberry garden. The team currently consists of 10 promotion researchers, 4 personnel with associate senior titles, 4 with intermediate titles, and 6 farmer technicians. Through technical services and scientific demonstration, it helps surrounding farmers explore new paths to prosperity, promotes the adjustment and optimization of the agricultural production structure, facilitates the transformation from traditional to modern agriculture, and gradually forms a new development model driven by technological demonstration, supported by social participation, and focused on increasing farmers’ income.
