Ancient Tomb

The ancient tomb is the northernmost of three tombs aligned from north to south here and also the largest in area, situated close to the highway. It is an earthen mound tomb with a collapsed center at the top. This tomb can be regarded as representative of over 1,600 Wusun tombs located along the northern bank of the Gongnaisi River, stretching from the Gongnaisi Breeding Farm to Zeketai. The ancient tombs in this area come in three types—earthen mound tombs, stone pile tombs, and stone coffin tombs—varying greatly in size. Many tombs have their tops paved with pebbles or cobblestones, and some are surrounded by stone rings. Excavated burial objects include pottery jars, pottery bowls, bronze mirrors, and more.

Judging from the shapes of the excavated pottery and bronze mirrors, the tombs are roughly dated to the Western Han Dynasty. The tomb cluster is located on the gentle slope of the right bank of the valley, where the vegetation consists mainly of grassland flowers and various grasses, predominantly from the Gongnaisi River, along with numerous species such as sweet clover, gromwell, and crucifers. Vegetation coverage reaches about 80%, with grass height at 2.0 centimeters.
