On August 6, a series of events for the New Silk Road International Tourism Ambassador Competition kicked off in Beijing under the theme "Journey through Yangzhou, a Renowned Canal City, and Explore Xinyuan, the Prairie Pearl." Jiangsu's Yangzhou and Xinjiang's Xinyuan are representative cities/counties along the Grand Canal and the Silk Road, respectively, both home to national 5A-level scenic spots—Slender West Lake and Nalati. From the water towns of the south to the prairie grasslands of the Silk Road, from poetic cultural landscapes to pristine nature, these destinations were brought together through the ambassador competition, fostering cultural exchange and tourism interaction between inland China and Xinjiang.
