Kezier Reservoir is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

Guide Kezier Reservoir is situated within the territories of Kezier Township and Sailimu Town in Baicheng County, Aksu, Xinjiang. The upstream part of the reservoir is 41 km west of Baicheng County, while the dam site is 60 km southeast of Kuqa County. A 9.7 km drive south along the asphalt road from the Kezier section of Provincial Highway 307 between Baicheng and Kuqa leads to the dam. Introduction: Kezier Reservoir is a valley river-blocking reservoir and a key large-scale hydraulic hub controlling the Weigan River basin. Covering an area of 44.6 square kilometers, with an average depth of 15 meters and a maximum depth of around 40 meters, it is primarily designed for irrigation and flood control, while also serving hydropower generation, fish farming, and tourism. It is the largest regulatory reservoir in the region.

The main dam of the reservoir is 920 meters long, with a maximum height of 44 meters and a crest width of 10 meters. It features a 1.2-meter-high steel-reinforced concrete wave wall on the crest. The auxiliary dam is 1,288 meters long, with a maximum height of 32 meters and a crest width of 16 meters. Both dams are of the clay-core rock-fill type. Construction began in 1985 and was completed in 1992 when the reservoir started impounding water. The project is classified as Grade 1, Level 1.

The Kezier Reservoir F2 active fault is a significant longitudinal fault within the Queletage Mountain fold zone, forming a small branch of the complex east-west geological structures of the Tianshan Mountains. The hanging wall of the fault consists of Tertiary mudstone and sandstone, while the footwall is made up of Quaternary gravel. The vertical displacement is 14 meters, with the fault zone being about 80 meters wide. The fault is still active. This geological profile serves as a rare and valuable educational resource in China, holding great scientific research significance. It is now protected by a surrounding wall at Kezier Reservoir and opened to the public as a geological exhibit.

Kezier Reservoir also preserves biological specimens of the Xingjiang Bighead Carp (a Class I protected animal in China), which are displayed for public science education.

Kezier Township: Kezier Township is located in the eastern part of Baicheng County, approximately 47.3 km in a straight line from the county seat. It borders Heiyingshan Township to the north, Sailimu Township to the west, Kuqa County to the east, and Xinhe County to the south, with the Queletage Mountain range acting as the boundary. The township stretches about 44.4 km from north to south and 35.4 km from east to west, covering a total area of 923.15 square kilometers. It governs 11 village committees and one pasture, with a total population of 8,376 people. The township government is headquartered in Wutang Village.
