Walnut Seven Immortals Garden Scenic Area

The Walnut Seven Immortals Garden Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yecheng County has a long history of walnut cultivation and abundant ancient tree resources. The cluster of seven walnut trees located in Village 17 of Sayibage Township is the oldest walnut tree group currently discovered in the Kashgar region, hence known as the “Walnut Seven Immortals.” These seven sacred walnut trees are respectively named: “Prosperity, Fortune, Longevity, Happiness, Harmony, Peace, and Health,” and are often referred to as the “King of Chinese Walnuts.”

Legend of the Seven Immortals: It is said that the cradle of the Chinese ancestors was Mount Kunlun. At that time, the climate was harsh, with drought and little rain, the land was barren, the people were hungry, and epidemics were rampant. To show compassion for the suffering of the people, the Jade Emperor commanded the seven immortals governing the human realm—Prosperity, Fortune, Longevity, Happiness, Harmony, Peace, and Health—to transform into seven sacred walnut trees and descend to the mortal world to relieve the people’s hardships. The walnuts from these seven trees are inexhaustible; eating them refreshes the spirit, brightens the complexion, cures all ailments, and grants longevity. It is also believed that praying under the seven trees for any trouble brings miraculous results.
