Motorcycle,5000and Cycling Tour have officially concluded.5This event was led by Mao Dongmei, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Promotion Center for Xinjiang Tourism and Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Tourism Network. It spanned ten days and nine nights, covering approximately 1,060 kilometers. Starting from Yecheng, the journey ended in Ngari, Tibet, traversing over16mountains with elevations exceeding44meters,glacier passes,2017andrivers. Building upon the 2017 Xinjiang-Tibet Highway reconnaissance tour, this year’s event used the highway as its main axis to attract mid-to-high-end travelers through RVs, cycling, and motorcycles. This helped promotediversification and sustainable development of tourism economies along the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway.
Innovative Cultural Tourism Promotion,Building Yecheng’s Tourism Public Service Platform
In addition to organizing the RV, cycling, and motorcycle tour across the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway, Yecheng’s tourism public service platform—the “Yecheng Tourism” WeChat service account—was officially launched. The platform includes features such as the “Xinjiang-Tibet Highway Warriors Certificate & Stories” showcase, local specialty purchases, featured routes, outdoor rescue services, hotel booking, Yecheng attractions, food recommendations, and tourism news. Leveraging media advantages, it tells the stories of the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway, creating a branded communication effect that helps more travelers learn about Yecheng and explore the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway.
Xinjiang-Tibet Highway Warriors Certificate,Officially Released
During this event, all participants braved hardships and successfully conquered the “world’s highest-altitude highway,” earning the“Xinjiang-Tibet Highway Warriors Certificate.” This marks the official launch of the certificate program for adventurers (self-driving, cycling, motorcycling, trekking) of the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. In the future, visitors who challenge the route can obtain a paper certificate at the Xitinya Lost City scenic area in Yecheng or check in online via the “Yecheng Tourism” WeChat account to interact with other travelers.
Industrial and Tourism Support for Xinjiang,RVs Boost the Development of New Tourism Formats
Under“the Belt and Road”Initiative, industrial assistance to Xinjiang has now reached a higher level. Tapping into special tourism resources and vigorously promoting the development of the tourism industry have become key measures in advancing targeted poverty alleviation.2018In [year], Shanghai Tourism Network joined hands with SAIC Maxus RVs to jointly promote Shanghai’s aid program for Xinjiang. Taking this event as an opportunity,the Maxus RV Base was officially established in Xinjiang, marking the launch of new tourism formats such as RV self-driving, RV rentals, and RV sales in the region.
It is reported that after the event, one0driver drove an RV back to Yecheng. Despite encountering a snowstorm on the return journey, they overcame various harsh conditions with skilled driving techniques and rich road experience, arriving safely in Yecheng — truly deserving the title of heroes of the new Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
