Qipan Township is located in the southwestern part of Yecheng County, 71 kilometers from the county seat. It lies at the northern foot of the Karakoram Mountains, with the overall terrain sloping from south to north. The climate is classified as warm temperate continental arid, featuring cool summers and cold winters, with large annual and daily temperature variations — an average annual temperature difference of 30.7°C and a daily temperature difference of 13.3°C. The frost-free period lasts 200 days, and the elevation ranges between 1,900 and 4,700 meters. Villages 1 through 13 stretch over a total distance of approximately 150 kilometers.
