Huaya Zi

Huaya Zi is located in Huaya Gou on the west side of Tuyao Village, Huanghua Township, about 20 kilometers north of the county town. It is a deep, serene, east-west mountain valley, stretching 10 kilometers in length and 300 meters in width.

The gorge is characterized by deep valleys, towering mountains, and perilous terrain. Majestic, undulating peaks stand facing each other on both the northern and southern sides, with steep, rugged cliffs and jutting boulders suspended overhead. The cliff faces display a striking array of colors—including red, white, yellow, blue, and ochre—intermingling in a vibrant, kaleidoscopic palette that gives rise to the name "Huaya Zi" (Flower Cliff). Lush layers of Mongolian oak, birch, linden, poplar, and pine trees crown the steep green peaks, creating a dense expanse of verdant foliage. Wild boar, roe deer, wolves, and foxes are often spotted in the forest, while birds flit through the treetops, singing melodiously, and butterflies dance gracefully among the flowers—painting a scene of emerald landscapes, floral fragrance, and birdsong. At the bottom of the valley, a chain of springs, a network of streams, and beautiful waterfalls dot the terrain, with crystal-clear waters of the Shatang River winding through the gorge. Scenic spots within the area include Giant Axe Peak and Camel Peak, and the site encompasses attractions such as Birch Valley, Wild Boar Valley, and Dadong Valley.
