Nanchan Temple in Xining is a cultural relic protection unit of Qinghai Province.

Nanchan Temple in Xining is located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain in Xining City, Qinghai Province. Historically, a temple was built on Phoenix Mountain during the Northern Song Dynasty (997–1065 AD), and by the eighth year of the Yongle era in the Ming Dynasty (1410 AD), it had reached a certain scale. In the second year of the Tongzhi era in the Qing Dynasty (1863 AD), part of the temple buildings were destroyed due to war. Later, during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, funds were raised through donations over more than ten years of effort, eventually resulting in the construction of a large complex of temple buildings.

This architectural complex, centered around the Guan Yu Temple, is one of the better-preserved ancient building complexes in Xining today. It serves as an important site for religious activities of local and surrounding Han Chinese Buddhists (of the Pure Land sect), and is also the oldest Han Chinese Buddhist temple in Qinghai Province. The temple includes five courtyards and 86 rooms, with main structures such as the Mahavira Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall, Jade Buddha Hall, Three Saints Hall, Skanda Hall, Maitreya Hall, and Kṣitigarbha Hall. Covering an area of approximately 6,000 square meters, it was listed as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by Qinghai Province in May 1986.
