The Qinghai Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

The Qinghai Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum is situated at No. 36 Jing'er Road, High-Tech Bio-Industrial Park, Xining City, Qinghai Province. Its main building is majestic and meaningful, with its design drawing on the ancient concept of "the round sky and square earth" to highly abstract and reinterpret Tibetan architectural style. It blends traditional Tibetan architectural elements with modern building art, together with the administrative committee and the park plaza forming a unified and harmonious trio of city landmark structures. The museum covers a total area of 200 acres, with a building area of 12,000 square meters. Construction began in March 2005, with trial opening on September 9, 2006, and official opening on May 1, 2007. It is currently the world's only comprehensive professional museum dedicated to Tibetan culture.

The Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum has three floors: the first floor houses artifact storage and equipment rooms, while the second and third floors are exhibition halls, featuring seven themed sections: medicinal specimens, Tibetan medical history, medical thangka paintings, medical instruments, ancient texts, astronomy and calendrics, and the painted panorama. Through environmental reconstructions, thangka sculptures, artifact displays, and high-tech simulations, the museum exhibits over 2,000 plant, animal, and mineral specimens, more than 30 renowned Tibetan medical scholars from various dynasties, 80 unique Tibetan medical charts, over 180 surgical instruments used by traditional Tibetan doctors 1,300 years ago, and more than 1,000 representative Tibetan medical classics. Notably, the museum permanently displays the "Chinese Tibetan Culture Artistic Painted Panorama," a grand scroll designed and planned over 27 years by the contemporary master of Tibetan thangka art, Tsering Lajie. It was created by over 400 top artisans from Tibetan, Mongolian, Han, and Tu ethnic groups over four years of meticulous work. The scroll is 618 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, crafted using traditional Tibetan painting techniques with precious pigments such as gold powder, jade, and coral. It has been recorded in the Guinness World Records. At the Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum, through the displayed fragments of Tibetan medical history, the public can glimpse the distant light of civilization on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, appreciate the invaluable Tibetan medical culture, experience the ancient charm of the western plateau, and admire the magnificent painted panorama.

The Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum is a comprehensive professional institution that collects, preserves, studies, and displays the historical and cultural heritage of Tibetan medicine originating from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, evidence of its developmental milestones, precious artifacts, and Tibetan artistic paintings. It is currently the world’s only large-scale Tibetan medicine museum. Invested in by Qinghai Jinhe Tibetan Medicine Group Co., Ltd. with government support, the museum aims to comprehensively present the splendid culture of Tibetan medicine to domestic and international audiences, revive the history of its development, and rescue the Tibetan medical heritage that is at risk of being lost.

With strong support and assistance from government departments and all sectors of society, the Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum will further enhance its facilities, expand its collection of cultural relics, enlarge its exhibition scale, and strengthen its technical expertise. Through high-level, multidisciplinary research in Tibetan medicine, history, and cultural relics, the museum will continuously enrich public understanding of Tibetan medical culture and promote the sustainable development of the Tibetan medicine field. The Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum will become a window for Qinghai Province to engage with the outside world and foster ethnic unity and progress, as well as a significant cultural venue in the Qinghai-Tibet region for the public to enjoy high-quality cultural experiences.
