Built by the Taichung City Government, Gangqu Sports Park is located in ShaLu along the coastal area. Completed in July this year and set to open next year, it is Taichung’s first sports park. The park includes indoor badminton courts, table tennis courts, aerobics studios, weight training rooms, and outdoor roller skating rinks. Its vibrant and colorful exterior has already drawn many visitors. The large areas of blue mixed with yellow and white create an eye-catching color scheme that captivates the senses, bringing a cheerful and uplifting mood.

If you’re a blue lover with a bit of OCD who appreciates neat and pleasant visuals, check out the North District National Sports Center in Taichung. With its blue base and giant grid walls, just one wall can give you a super stylish photo op. The facility mainly features aquatic sports amenities, hence the extensive use of blue. Other offerings include table tennis courts, badminton courts, multi-purpose courts, aerobics studios, and a fitness center. It is the second newly built sports center following the Chaoma National Sports Center and officially opened on October 1st.

Tucheng National Sports Center

For more blue-toned backdrops, head to the Tucheng National Sports Center. Here, there’s a mosaic tile wall in shades of blue, pink, and gray. Finding the perfect angle can yield great results, and the three cube-shaped structures add a playful and dynamic feel to the building. The center features a 25M swimming pool, a fitness center, squash courts, table tennis rooms, multi-purpose courts, an outdoor climbing area, and is home to what's called “New Taipei City’s only ice hockey rink that meets international standards—the Ice Palace.”

Taichung Taiping Xinguang Elementary School

Even the running track can be unique. After relocating and renovating, Xinguang Elementary School has become even more dreamlike, infused with many fairy-tale elements, making it a rather distinctive structure. Upon entering the campus, you’ll see one of its soul features—the playground—featuring an alternating blue and green color scheme. Unlike other elementary schools, this meticulously planned space is quite eye-catching. The whole playground looks like a swimming pool, almost making you want to jump in and swim. It even lifts your mood inexplicably. Studying here must feel so blissful.
