Introduction The majestic Golmud Hydropower Station on the Golmud River is hailed as the Pearl Beneath the Kunlun Mountains. The Golmud River is a major river along the southern edge of the Qaidam Basin. Behind it lies a shimmering artificial reservoir with a capacity of over four million cubic meters; in front of it stretches a soaring aerial cable bridge spanning the rugged canyon cliffs. Water from the reservoir gushes out through the dam’s three floodgates like snow spray or a waterfall, with jade-like droplets splashing and mist rising. Transportation: Accessible via Bus No. 40.
