Yuzhu Peak

Yuzhu Peak, also known as Kokosejimen Peak, stands at an elevation of 6,178 meters. It is located 10 kilometers east of the Kunlun Pass and 160 kilometers south of Golmud in Qinghai Province, making it the highest peak in the eastern section of the Kunlun Mountains. The mountain's terrain and features are highly suitable for beginners. The southern slope offers a clear and straightforward climbing route with relatively low technical demands, but the base camp is situated at a relatively high altitude of 4,800 meters. Additionally, the southern slope of Yuzhu Peak has been weathered into dome-shaped peaks with gentle slopes, posing no risk of avalanches. In contrast, the northern slope is more complex, featuring a variety of terrains such as crevasses, ice towers, steep ice slopes, and knife-edge ridges, making it particularly well-suited for large-scale mountaineering training activities. The northern base camp is located 4 kilometers from Xidatan and sits at an altitude of 4,300 meters, with the snow line at 4,400 meters. Therefore, climbers can gain high-altitude mountaineering experience on the southern slope while learning more advanced ice and snow techniques and climbing strategies on the northern slope.
